Shakti Mudra
How
Fold thumbs into palms. Curl index & middle over thumbs. Press ring and little fingertips of both hands together.
Why it works
The classic sleep mudra — relaxes the pelvic region and lower belly, calms an over-active mind.
Nightly Ritual · 15 minutes
A simple bedside ritual to slow the breath, quiet the mind and slip into deep, restorative sleep — without pills, without screens.
Six mudras for sleep
Hold any one mudra for 5–15 minutes in bed, lying down or seated. Breathe slowly through the nose. Let the fingers do the asking — the nervous system listens.

Why it works
The Buddha’s meditation mudra. Settles the body into deep stillness before sleep.
Guided meditation
Read it once. Then close the eyes and let memory guide you. Phone face-down, lights dim, room cool.
Lie on your back. Arms by your sides, palms up. Close the eyes. Let the body sink into the bed. Sigh out through the mouth three times.
Soften the forehead… jaw… shoulders… chest… belly… hips… legs… feet. Each out-breath, let one part melt.
Inhale through the nose. Exhale with a soft humming bee sound, lips closed. Feel the vibration in the skull. 6–8 rounds.
Inhale 4 · hold 2 · exhale 6. With every exhale silently count down 27, 26, 25… If you lose count, start again at 27.
Chant or whisper the mantra below 7, 11 or 21 times. Let the sound carry you under.
Stop counting. Stop chanting. Receive the breath. Sleep arrives on its own.
Here’s the Guru Mantra
Gurur Brahmā Gurur Viṣṇuḥ
Gurur Devo Maheśvaraḥ
Guruḥ Sākṣāt Paraṁ Brahma
Tasmai Śrī Gurave Namaḥ ॥
Meaning: The Guru is Brahma the creator, Vishnu the sustainer, and Shiva the transformer. The Guru is verily the supreme reality itself. To that revered Guru, I offer my salutations.
How to chant tonight
You don’t need perfect Sanskrit. Intention is the offering — the sound is the carrier.
Make it a habit
